Human Resources Generalist

Department: Admin - MD
Location: Betheda, MD

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist handles a range of HR tasks, including talent acquisition, employee relations, training, and compliance across various locations. This role also supports other HR functions as needed.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 (Based on experience, education and other qualifications)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and document compliance with required training and certifications.
  • Administer HR programs like compensation, benefits, leave, and employee relations.
  • Address HR-related inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and update policies as necessary.
  • Stay updated on HR trends and regulations.
  • Prepare reports to support recruiting and retention efforts.
  • Communicate HR policies and regulations.
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Lead employee engagement activities.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors.
  • Maintain employee records, including I-9 forms.
  • Assist with performance reviews and benefits administration.
  • Support HRIS data entry and maintenance.
  • Partner with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including:
    • Reviewing and submitting employee changes (new hires, terminations, promotions, etc.)
    • Ensuring proper documentation for leaves of absence, timekeeping, and benefits deductions
    • Assisting in audits and reconciliations related to payroll and benefits
  • Partner with the Learning and Development Manager to enhance training programs, identify skill gaps, and improve employee development processes.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiative to improve employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in HR or a related field.
  • Experience in benefits administration, employee relations, and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of full-cycle recruiting.
